From April 2-4, 2022, the price of raw pangasius is about 30,000 VND/kg, the distribution price of frozen pangasius fillets in the US has also increased to 8-8.5 USD/kg but there is no stock, new supply. Very limited frozen fish fillets. Therefore, the price of pangasius will continue to increase.

Since the beginning of 2022, the price of pangasius has increased very high, which is an opportunity for people and businesses to continue to invest and develop production.

In addition to weather and climate, markets and trade barriers are also challenges for the pangasius industry. The new generation of free trade agreements are both a challenge and an opportunity for Vietnamese pangasius products to continue to be exported to the EU and US markets… However, the increasingly strict requirements from the import market require the pangasius industry in our country to make efforts to meet.

In 2021, the farming area of pangasius in the Mekong Delta was 5,856.7 hectares (an increase of more than 10% compared to the same period in 2020). The localities with the most concentrated stocking areas include An Giang, Dong Thap, Long An, and Ben Tre.

Pangasius harvest in 2021 got 1,525 million tons, an increase of 1.63% over the same period in 2020. Notably, pangasius production is concentrated in Dong Thap, An Giang, Can Tho and Ben Tre accounts for 86.4% of the whole Mekong Delta region.
